Though the boys didn’t know much about animal rescue, they quickly realized they had to act fast if they wanted to save this poor creature’s life. Despite not knowing what kind of animal it was, they understood that every second mattered. Carefully and gently, they managed to reach under the car and pull the small animal out, doing their best not to cause further harm.
They noticed its fur was dirty and matted, and its body was ice cold to the touch. I wasn’t able to go myself but was trying to coach some other members of our local rescue network on safely securing the kitten. It was down to the wire, the kitten wasn’t tempted by food and wouldn’t jump down to check out the trap, the rain wasn’t letting up and everyone needed to leave, knowing that @reluctant_catlady can’t pass up an opportunity for a dramatic rescue, we tapped her in.
